Welcome!

My Mother's Voice (MMV) is a solution-based nonprofit investing in our children, youth, and families. Our enthusiastic volunteers develop bonds with children who thrive with additional support in education, access to health care, and opportunities in the arts, music, and enrichment activities to discover their talents. We help our children thrive from birth through their years of education to fulfill their goals of economic independence.

My Mother's Voice offers our volunteers the same meaningful opportunity to impact the lives of children and families. Giving back and giving forward rewards every participant with a greater good.

Our Children:  The Ultimate Investment

A Book of My Own

When My Mother's Voice goes into the classrooms of our community's Title I schools, we're there to spark the imagination of every child who hears the stories we read aloud.
This is a time for reading to be fun. It's not an assignment. It's an opportunity for reading to bring adventure and companionship.
We give away hundreds of books every month, a special story chosen by each child to keep, cherish, and remember.
Our donors give our earliest readers, the first books of their own!
  • NEEDED:
  • Books for K through 5th
  • Writing tablets and journals
  • Paper and supplies for projects

Child by child, our donors help us provide small opportunities yielding a big return on every investment.

DONATE NOW and 100% of your donation is invested in books and supplies for children in the highest poverty schools in our own communities.

No Hungry Mondays

Picture
There are over 90,000 local children at risk for hunger!  There's never a day when it's okay for a child to experience true hunger.  As our teachers can verify, often a child comes into school on a Monday, tired and hungry because there was not enough to eat at home over the weekend. We know children who linger around a classroom after Friday dismissal, hoping for an extra snack or protein bar left over from the week.

Lack of access to food is particularly devastating for children. Hunger and inadequate nutrition are linked to poor brain development and lasting educational deficits.

Donate to our No Hungry Mondays campaign, and your donation goes to purchasing healthy "overnight" and weekend food kits distributed to local children who especially need food on days when there is no access to a school cafeteria.   More Information
